About the Conference

Our annual conference offers students and faculty at Providence College the opportunity to engage with the complexities and accomplishments involved in organizing an academic event. Each year, PC students actively participate in the peer review process for paper proposals. Additionally, students gain valuable experience in event coordination by managing logistics such as catering, hospitality, registration, and hosting attendees from various colleges and universities across the region. Since 2011, funding for this initiative has been generously provided by the Office of Institutional Advancement and the Canavan Family Endowment. We sincerely appreciate the Canavan family’s ongoing support, which promotes meaningful discussions on health policy and medical ethics at Providence College. In recent years, the conference has attracted students from numerous institutions nationwide. Panel presentations have included participants from Providence College, Brandeis University, Brown University, UCLA, Connecticut College, the University of Houston, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, the University of New Hampshire, Sarah Lawrence College, Stonehill College, Tufts University, and Yale University. Presenters will have the chance to connect with like-minded students and explore a variety of topics related to historical and contemporary issues in healthcare.
